Founded in August 2006 at Wembley Square in Cape Town, Knead began as a small family-run artisan bakery café and has grown to five stores across the city. Rooted in traditional methods, we create simple, honest food using locally sourced seasonal ingredients. Our bakers and chefs work openly by hand each day — kneading, slow-proofing and baking throughout the day with care and craftsmanship. Warm breads, comforting flavours and a welcoming atmosphere remain at the heart of everything we do.
